Location - walking distance to all sights. Rooms clean with tea making facilities. Rooms small but had everything needed for our stay . Staff friendly and helpful.Would stay again if they could sort out AC and open the top floor in the evening.

The location was great. Literally opposite the train station and 5/10 min walk to the eurostar station. So many restaurants/cafes to choose from that were literally on the doorstep of the hotel. We were able to walk to everywhere we wanted to see. Everything was reasonably close to us. (We do enjoy walking) The only time we used public transport was to get to the La piscine museum, which was a highlight for me. I would definitely recommend to 20 min metro journey to visit the museum. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. They were happy to answer any questions. There were left luggage lockers for €1-2 depending on size which was great for us on the last day of our stay as our train wasn't until late afternoon. We thought this was very good value for money. The continental breakfast had a fair amount of choice of pastries, breads and cereals. The balcony at the top of the hotel gave a great view whilst enjoying our breakfast. We would stay here again it was good value for money if you are on a smaller budget.

The staff were excellent, very friendly, spoke good English which was very helpful as my french was poor. Was very welcoming and explained where everything was. The room was very warm due to the time of year but we had a fan supplied in the room and they very kindly allowed us to have a second in the room which was a huge help. We was sad to leave due to feeling so happy there. Complimentary tea/coffee sachets supplied in the room and topped up daily along with a room freshen up and clean beds. Water station in reception to keep hydrated. We was leaving late but the staff kindly allowed us to leave our luggage behind reception at no cost which was secure. 100% would stay again and plan to in the near future.

Hotel Chagnot is perfectly located across the square from the SNFC Flanders train station. The hotel is in the centre of town, very close to restaurants, a good supermarket, and attractions.Reception staff were friendly and helpful throughout. My room was clean and comfortable, although very small - suitable for a solo traveller. Two windows opened out onto the square. Although there are restaurants below, once the windows were closed, I didn't notice the noise.

The room had a wonderful view down over the square. It was quiet and clean and, while small, had everything I needed. I was delighted that it had a kettle so I could make tea. I was only there one night, but it was perfect for what I wanted. It's about as central as you can be, and right by Lille Flandres train station. It says it's accessible and it really is, no steps at all.

If I were reviewing nothing more than the room, then this review might not be all that positive. Basic and OK, albeit with a somewhat depressing view to the rear of the building into a sort of large brick well. I’m not sure whether a room at the front would be better. At the very least the room was quiet at night. And it had everything we needed; at a very reasonable price. All this pales into insignificance in the light of breakfast, taken on the seventh floor terrace, with magnificent views across Lille-Flandres station and the surrounding squares. Added to which it was a good and simple breakfast, which we would probably have enjoyed regardless – even without the view. Staff, on both reception and at breakfast, were lovely. Worth noting that, in terms of transport, access to Lille-Flandres is a hop and a skip. Access to Lille-Europe, particularly on a hot afternoon – laden with luggage – is slightly more of a challenge. It’s not all that far, but the route is very exposed. Driving rain wouldn’t be much fun either! On the other hand there are buses, which might well be worth investigating.

The location is fantastic for transport being right next to the Gare Lille Flanders and the Metro and a less than 10 minutes walk to the Eurostar. Right next to the old town and all it's sights. Plenty of restaurants and cafes nearby. The staff were really friendly and helpful.

The room and bathroom were compact but clean and totally fine for us for a couple of days in this beautiful city. I asked for a quiet room as I'd read the street-facing ones could be a bit noisy. We were given one towards the back, which meant no view to speak of, but that's the compromise for a good night's sleep - and we slept very well as the bed and pillows were very comfortable too. The blackout curtains worked well, also. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the location was perfect for arriving by Eurostar and exploring Lille on foot. We didn't have breakfast there, but it looked decent, and the rooftop balcony gave a nice view. Overall, for the price, it was of good value. I would return and recommend. Thank you, Hotel Chagnot.

The hotel is a stone's throw from Lille main station but is not noisy and has fantastic views from the rooms and breakfast terrace. It is also an easy walk to the Eurostar station in one direction and the wonderful central square in the other. Communication with the staff was excellent at all times. The room was clean and comfortable and the breakfast good.

We had a lovely stay at Hotel Chagnot, perfectly located right in the heart of Lille. You honestly couldn’t ask for a more convenient spot – just steps away from the train station, shopping streets, and plenty of great cafés and restaurants. It made exploring the city an absolute breeze. The hotel itself is very clean and well-maintained, with everything you need for a comfortable stay. While the rooms are fairly basic, they’re functional, tidy, and just right if you’re looking for a no-fuss place to rest your head after a day of sightseeing. The service was genuinely warm and welcoming – the staff were friendly, helpful, and made us feel right at home from the moment we arrived. One of the unexpected highlights was the breakfast, served on the top floor with a panoramic view of the city. A truly lovely way to start the day – fresh pastries, good coffee, and a beautiful urban backdrop. If you’re after luxury, this might not be your spot – but if you value location, cleanliness, great service, and a beautiful breakfast setting, Hotel Chagnot is a fantastic choice.
